more tracking today..

Today, Andrew and I finished off all of the acoustic guitar tracking. We also started on vocals for “Come Jesus Come”. We also came up with a neat audiophile way to end the album. I think it will turn out pretty darn cool. All the songs are really starting to take shape and we are now just tweaking and adding small parts here and there. We recorded the living room piano again tonight with much success. I had it tuned a few weeks ago and wit the front lid off it is sounding superb. I need to get up in the morning to move all the gear in our bedroom back to the office right next to our bedroom. Jaime is home tomorrow and I can’t wait. Here is the vocal signal chain we used tonight for all the geeks reading this out there. Audio Technica 4047 –> Andrew Bailey custom cable –> Universal Audio LA-610 mic pre –> Presonus Firepod (channel 1 mind you) –> Logic Pro 8. I have to say that the vocals are what I am most worried about as I tend to doubt my abilities often. Tonight they sounded pretty good and I am excited to get some more down and try out a few different mics. It’s late now and I need to hit the bed.
